Virtual showroom for Porcelanosa
Porcelanosa Group is a reference company in the ceramics sector. It is based on the values of innovation, quality, its extensive human team and attention to its social environment.
For the first time it introduces its new product line PAR-KER through a virtual showroom providing an immersive and interactive experience for its potential customers. By creating an environment adapted to the requirements of the project and establishing different spaces that can be found in a house, we obtain a real and varied space for the user to walk through with the virtual reality glasses, generating a very realistic experience.
Challenge
Porcelanosa is aiming to present its new PAR-KER product line, which includes different types of natural wood flooring in an original way to generate greater interest in the fair's attendees, surprising them visually. The problem with this project is that the physical displacement and adaptation of the flooring to the different exhibition spaces involves a lot of work and costs considering the dimensions and weight of the products. Therefore, Porcelanosa needs a comfortable stage, which is 360º explorable by the user and that generates a great impact
Solution
We designed and developed a virtual reality APP specifically for Porcelanosa. The result, a completely innovative interface that simplifies user interaction with the product. This application made a great impact at the fair and allowed Porcelanosa to showcase the large PAR-KER collection without the need for an overly voluptuous stand. Attendees were pleasantly satisfied with the quality and realism of the scenes, environments and materials created for Porcelanosa
Technology
For this project we opted for the Oculus Rift Virtual Reality device, which allows us to achieve maximum graphic quality as it works connected to a computer. The Oculus Insight system works at room scale, allowing users to move around a real space to interact with the application. The Rift S viewer has five sensors to track movement, with a system that enhances the tracking of the closest position to improve the sensation when grasping and pointing at objects in the application
