This year, the Web Summit 2024 in Lisbon once again stood out as one of the most relevant global tech events, attracting over 70,000 attendees from 153 countries, including a strong presence of startups and tech leaders. From Innoarea Projects, we had the opportunity to dive into this environment, exploring the latest trends and collaborating with companies that share our passion for immersive innovation. From the very beginning, we were impressed by the event’s energy, with thousands of people sharing ideas and innovative projects.
Emerging trends: Highlights of the event
From day one, the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) was palpable at the event, sparking discussions about its role in areas such as business, creativity, sustainability, and digital governance. Leaders and experts delved into the challenges and evolution of AI models, emphasizing the importance of a community-driven and collaborative approach in developing these models.
One of our favorite moments at the event was the opportunity to try out Snapchat’s augmented reality glasses Spectacles. These glasses, designed to enhance immersive creativity, project digital elements into the real world, seamlessly integrating content capture and editing. We saw great potential in this technology to create interactive experiences in areas such as education, marketing, and industry, which are key to us at Innoarea.
In addition, we had the opportunity to attend conferences covering fundamental topics such as sustainability and the use of immersive technology in education. Cybersecurity was also a relevant topic, with experts highlighting the importance of creating a people-centered security culture.
