La Valentina 2023
Augmented reality visualisation
La Valentina, Festa Urbana, is an annual event organised by Valencia City Council in which people-centred urban planning is celebrated and the changes and projects of the city of Valencia are presented to its neighbours.
The project focuses on the use of augmented reality for the visualisation of architectural models of projects proposed by Valencia City Council.
On the one hand, three 3D models have been created with models of existing buildings and architectural projects in different colours to highlight future changes. The Twin AR platform will allow users to visualise the 3D models using mobile phone cameras without installing applications. Each model will have a unique QR code for use in future events and activities.
In addition, a QR code has been installed in Valencia’s Town Hall Square through which a 360º image of the Re-Natura project, the winning idea to redesign the square, can be viewed.
Challenge
The challenge in this project is to effectively communicate and visualize proposed architectural changes and projects to the residents of Valencia in an engaging and accessible manner during the annual event, La Valentina, Festa Urbana.
Solution
Volumetric models of existing structures and new architectural projects are hosted on Innoarea's own servers. These models are made easily accessible to users through their mobile phones, eliminating the need for additional app installations.
Technology
Leverage AR through QR codes and mobile devices for visualizing architectural models. 3D Studio MAX, Blender, Innoarea servers, Twin AR, and 360º virtual tours ensure accessibility and seamlessness.
