Showroom for Porcelanosa’s PAR-KER collection

Interactive and realistic exhibition spaces in virtual reality

The challenge: To transform the trade fair experience without the traditional constraints of space and logistics

The Porcelanosa Group wanted to showcase its new range of ceramic flooring with a natural wood finish, PAR-KER, in a completely innovative way that would surprise visitors at trade fairs in the sector. The main challenge was that displaying these materials in a traditional stand required a major logistical effort, with high transport and assembly costs due to the volume, size and weight of the pieces.

To overcome this obstacle, the multinational needed a comfortable, immersive and fully explorable 360° environment. The ultimate aim was to create a strong visual impact and maintain a cutting-edge image, enabling potential customers to visualise large areas of the product in use without relying on an overly opulent physical exhibition space.

Showroom de realidad virtual para Porcelanosa

The solution: An immersive virtual reality showroom with real-time interaction

To meet these needs, at Innoarea we have designed and developed a bespoke virtual reality application specifically tailored to the PAR-KER range. We immerse the user in a realistic luxury home, utilising the room-scale tracking system to allow them to move freely through the various rooms of the virtual environment.

The key to its success lay in a completely innovative interface that made interacting with the products as simple as possible. Users were not only able to explore the spaces with incredibly realistic graphics and visual consistency, but could also change the finishes and materials used in a matter of seconds, offering a dynamic and surprising experience that seemed almost magical.

Key findings

The project marked a milestone in Porcelanosa’s communication and sales strategy at industry events. The combination of virtual reality and interactivity eliminated the need to build large exhibition structures, drastically reducing the costs associated with trade fair logistics without compromising the impact or brand presence. The solution made it possible to showcase the full range of the PAR-KER collection at a single interactive point.

Furthermore, attendee satisfaction was outstanding thanks to the high level of realism in the scenes and the smooth operation of the system. Porcelanosa not only succeeded in generating greater interest amongst its target audience and improving engagement, but also consolidated its image as a company at the forefront of technology in the ceramics sector.
