Augmented reality for YouTuber Ter

Ter’s iconic architecture transformed into a virtual crown

The challenge: Translating the complexity of an architectural work into a simple social media filter

The main challenge of the project was to translate the complex geometry of a conceptual architectural design – originally conceived as a building for Kim Kardashian – into an augmented reality format optimised for Instagram. It was essential to preserve the aesthetic and conceptual richness of the original work without compromising the fluidity or performance of the experience across a wide range of mobile devices.

Furthermore, the piece had to blend organically with Ter’s distinctive visual universe. This required modelling polyhedral shapes and simulating textures such as gold, diamonds and crystallised seaweed with cosmic sparkles, whilst ensuring that the floating crown responded naturally to the wearer’s movements.

Seeing such a complex architectural design transformed into something that thousands of people can put on their heads via their mobile phones has been mind-blowing.

The solution: An augmented reality polyhedral crown that brings together design, fashion and technology

In collaboration with Ter, Innoarea developed a bespoke augmented reality filter for Instagram that virtually recreates the crown floating above the user’s head. To achieve this, we optimised the polygon load and programmed custom shaders that replicate the reflections and sheen of the original materials.

The result is an interactive filter that blends architecture, fashion and digital language. This tool enabled the influencer to engage with her community in an innovative way, transforming a theoretical concept into an accessible, aesthetically pleasing and highly shareable personal branding experience.

  • Dynamic rendering of gold, diamonds and crystallised seaweed with cosmic sparkle effects
  • Precise and stable positioning of the floating crown on the wearer’s head in real time
  • Integration between architecture, pop culture and social media within the creator’s visual ecosystem

Key findings

The launch of the Corona Ter filter had a massive impact on the creator’s digital platforms, achieving significant organic reach from the moment it was launched. The initiative not only captured the attention of her regular following but also attracted new audiences interested in design, fashion and technological innovation.

By combining academic concepts from architecture with consumer-grade immersive technology, the campaign reinforced Ter’s positioning as a multidisciplinary creative leader. The project demonstrated the potential of augmented reality to transform conceptual assets into highly engaging experiences with significant reach.
