Prilux’s Augmented Catalogue and XR Showroom

3D visualisation and immersive experiences to boost sales

The challenge: To showcase highly technical, large-format products without having to send physical samples to each customer

The Prilux Group faced the logistical and financial challenge of launching its new, comprehensive technical catalogue in global markets. The need to transport bulky or complex lighting fixtures, such as the Hexagon modular spotlights or the Dácil waterproof screens, significantly increased marketing costs and the expense of attending international trade fairs.

Furthermore, it was difficult to convey the behaviour of light, the DALI control systems and the technical quality of the product on paper or a flat screen. The company needed a digital solution that would allow architects, engineers and distributors to interact with the product on a real-scale basis without having to be physically present.

The solution: An augmented reality app for the catalogue and a virtual reality showroom

Innoarea devised a dual strategy based on immersive technologies. On the one hand, the PRILUXAR mobile app (iOS and Android) was developed, which incorporates augmented reality to project full-scale 3D lighting fixtures directly onto any space, allowing users to examine finishes, optics and technical details from their devices.

Meanwhile, for the Light + Building international trade fair, we created a virtual reality experience that transported attendees to an immersive environment where they could experience the dynamism and enveloping lighting effects of Prilux technology in real-world scenarios.

Key findings

The implementation of AR and VR solutions cemented Grupo Prilux’s position as a leader in innovation within its sector. The sales network improved the efficiency of its face-to-face visits by replacing bulky catalogues with interactive, real-time demonstrations, thereby streamlining the decision-making process for technical specifiers.

The impact at events such as Light + Building boosted the stand’s appeal, transforming a traditional exhibition into a memorable experience. Furthermore, the ongoing use of the PRILUXAR app turned the investment in the project into an ongoing sales support tool.
