The solution: A comprehensive multi-scenario tactical simulation platform
Innoarea has developed a virtual training ecosystem that immerses the agent in two high-intensity operational modules. The first module focuses on police vehicle inspection: the user must thoroughly search a passenger bus for explosive devices or prohibited items. Equipped with a virtual tactical torch, the agent must work against the clock and, after securing the vehicle, proceed to physically search the driver for hidden weapons, training their visual acuity and protocol rigour.
The second module addresses a dynamic kidnapping situation. The officer faces a hostage crisis where an assailant armed with a knife threatens the life of a victim. The solution uses a branching logic system where the user’s actions (from reaction time to the accuracy of the shot with their service weapon) determine the outcome. The simulator allows the assailant to be captured alive, neutralised or, in the event of a tactical error, the victim to be killed or the suspect to escape, forcing the officer to manage stress and the proportionality of force.
Improvement in the efficiency of detecting threats in vehicle records
Operational risk during the simulation of situations involving the use of lethal force
Reduction in logistical costs associated with the preparation of physical drills

- Recreation of vehicle models and urban settings for complete psychological immersion
- Response algorithms that generate multiple endings based on the agent’s behaviour
- Use of synchronised commands for handling torches, weapons, and physical search techniques
- Automated recording of response times, areas inspected, and operational success rate
Key findings
The rollout of this project has transformed physical training methodology, establishing a new standard of operational excellence. By eliminating the need for heavy physical infrastructure for drills, officers can train more frequently, resulting in much more robust mechanisation of safety protocols. The confidence of personnel in hostage situations has grown exponentially thanks to controlled exposure to stress.
Ultimately, the main benefit is the ability to analyse data. Instructors now have accurate metrics on each officer’s performance, enabling personalised training that corrects tactical flaws before they become real risks. This project puts the client at the forefront of police technology, ensuring that its personnel are prepared to protect citizens in any contingency.
