Optimization of aircraft inspections
The proposed project involves the development of the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) of an application for managing information related to airworthiness and aircraft condition assessment, assisted by Artificial Intelligence and Augmented Reality. This application prototype is intended to be a tool that allows for efficient and reliable inspections for leasing companies, operators (airlines, private and state-owned), as well as eventually conducting trials with other companies in the sector interested in improving productivity during the processes of managing technical aircraft records and physical inspections.
In CAM-SmartTool 4.0, an innovative web and mobile platform was developed with the aim of transforming inspection management in the aviation sector. The project was led by Smartech Cluster, in collaboration with Indaer Europe and Skylife, and funded by the Ministry of Industry and Tourism. The application provides inspectors with tools to follow detailed instructions, capture and edit multimedia data, and generate automatic reports, thus facilitating accurate and comprehensive documentation of each inspection.
Challenge
Aviation faces issues of accuracy and efficiency in technical inspections due to the complexity of the processes and strict regulations, leading to errors and delays in manual management and significant administrative effort.
Solution
CAM-SmartTool 4.0 has been developed as a system to optimize aircraft inspections. The application allows inspectors to perform tasks more efficiently by using AR instructions, recording multimedia data, and generating reports automatically. This not only reduces the possibility of errors but also speeds up the inspection process and improves documentation management.
Technology
The developed web platform facilitates data management, reports, and communication between inspectors and administrators, with local storage and cloud synchronization capabilities. Developed by Smartech Cluster in collaboration with Innoarea and other partners, and funded by the Ministry of Industry and Tourism, CAM-SmartTool 4.0 enhances safety and efficiency in aircraft maintenance.
