The solution: An immersive XR showroom featuring high-definition virtual reality
At Innoarea, we have developed a 360° virtual reality showroom using Oculus Rift headset technology. Thanks to room-scale tracking, users can move freely through three hyper-realistic real-world environments: a home, a vehicle and a hospital operating theatre.
Within these environments, participants interact naturally, using their hands to examine objects, trigger demonstrations and learn about the properties of each development. The application enables the integration of dozens of interactive projects – ranging from biodegradable materials to electromagnetic components – into a portable, visually striking tool.
Eliminating the costs and risks associated with transporting prototypes
Virtual environments within a single portable application

- True freedom of movement around the rooms using the visor’s sensors
- The ability to pick up, examine and operate products with one’s hands within the environment
- Renderings of a house, a futuristic vehicle and a hospital to illustrate the uses of plastics
- Interactive fact sheets containing information on sustainability, added value and the features of each development
Key findings
The implementation of this immersive solution positions AIMPLAS as a pioneer in the digitalisation of business processes within the plastics industry. Its presentation at major events such as the K trade fair in Düsseldorf captured the attention of an international audience and set the technology centre apart from its direct competitors.
The XR Showroom makes it easier to understand highly complex materials straight away, speeding up customers’ purchasing decisions. By replacing physical samples with a continuous immersive experience, AIMPLAS has optimised its sales strategy, reducing recurring costs and broadening its opportunities for global expansion.
