Development of a 3D Digital Twin Demo for Predictive Maintenance

Cisco, a leading technology solutions provider, is at the forefront of a groundbreaking project aimed at developing an innovative 3D digital twin demo. This demo serves as a powerful marketing tool to unveil the potential applications and advantages of predictive maintenance systems within the realm of industrial operations. Cisco envisions this digital twin as a game-changing prototype to showcase its capabilities to a diverse range of potential clients.

This demo not only serves as a powerful marketing tool but also as a prototype for potential clients, illustrating the transformative potential of predictive maintenance systems. Through user-friendly interfaces, engaging animations, and comprehensive staff training, Cisco aims to demonstrate the tangible benefits of this innovative solution, making it accessible to a broad audience via web-based access points and VR technology

The objectives of this project were:

  • To develop a functional and interactive 3D digital twin demo that accurately emulates an industrial machine’s pieces and parts, including all relevant sensors and data streams.
  • To create animations that showcase different parts of the machine with their respective maintenance messages to provide visitors with a visual representation of how the machine operates and easily identify the different components that demand attention.
  • To ensure that the digital twin demo is user-friendly and easy to use so that visitors can interact with it and understand its features and capabilities.
  • To train the staff to effectively demonstrate the digital twin demo to visitors, and provide them with the knowledge and skills to answer questions and address concerns.
