AUC revolutionizes its document management

AUB and LAU digitize services and donations

The challenge: Managing growing donations and administrative services

The American University of Beirut (AUB) faced a major challenge as it launched a $650 million fundraising campaign over five years: efficiently managing thousands of donations and their documentation. At the same time, the Lebanese American University (LAU) aimed to modernize its academic and administrative services in response to the expectations of increasingly digital-native students.

Both institutions shared the need to improve efficiency, transparency, and sustainability in their internal processes, replacing manual tasks, disconnected systems, and excessive paper use that limited scalability and user experience.

AUB and LAU

AUB and LAU are two of Lebanon’s leading private universities, known for their academic excellence and commitment to educational and administrative innovation.

Before implementing Laserfiche, students had to submit dozens of paper documents when applying, resulting in cumbersome processes and the risk of lost paperwork. Today, thanks to automation, they can complete and submit forms online from their mobile devices and receive responses quickly. We’ve reduced processing times from weeks to hours, cut down on paper usage, and achieved a true digital transformation focused on mobility and sustainability.

The solution: Document automation and mobile-first digital services

For the American University of Beirut (AUB), we implemented Laserfiche in partnership with BMB Group, our strategic partner in the region, to fully automate the process of receiving, recognizing, and recording donations. This transformation significantly reduced processing times, improved accuracy in document management, and freed up staff from repetitive tasks—allowing them to focus on higher-value strategic activities.

In the case of the Lebanese American University (LAU), we deployed a solution based on intelligent electronic forms integrated with their existing systems, such as Banner and SharePoint. This implementation, also carried out in collaboration with BMB Group, digitized key processes like transcript and academic record requests, and expanded to areas such as Student Development, Legal, and Facilities Management. Students can now complete procedures from any device, with automated approvals, full traceability, and a user experience fully aligned with their digital lifestyle.

  • Seamless integration with institutional systems like Banner and SharePoint
  • Smart digital forms for academic and administrative requests
  • Automated workflows with approvals, tracking, and full traceability

Key results

Thanks to Laserfiche, AUB and LAU underwent a profound digital transformation. At AUB, the automation of the donation cycle not only reduced costs and processing time, but also enhanced the security and traceability of each contribution—enabling the university to focus on its strategic fundraising goals.

At LAU, students now enjoy a much faster and more intuitive experience. Administrative processes are accessible, efficient, and sustainable. Digitalization has improved operational efficiency and laid the foundation for a more connected, modern, and user-focused institution.
