According to all experts, <strong>health<\/strong> will be the sector that grows the most in the application of Virtual Reality in the coming years, second only to video games. According to the <strong>Virtual Reality Report in Spain<\/strong>, the health sector represents 12% of the virtual reality projects in our country.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1060\" height=\"532\" src=\"https:\/\/innoarea.com\/files\/\/usos-realidad-virtual-salud-innoarea-projects-1-1060x532.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2427\" srcset=\"https:\/\/innoarea.com\/files\/usos-realidad-virtual-salud-innoarea-projects-1-1060x532.png 1060w, https:\/\/innoarea.com\/files\/usos-realidad-virtual-salud-innoarea-projects-1-300x151.png 300w, https:\/\/innoarea.com\/files\/usos-realidad-virtual-salud-innoarea-projects-1-768x386.png 768w, https:\/\/innoarea.com\/files\/usos-realidad-virtual-salud-innoarea-projects-1.png 1356w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1060px) 100vw, 1060px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Although there is still a long way to go and much research to be done on Virtual Reality applied to health, it is clear that virtual reality is a <strong>technology with enormous applications <\/strong>in the field of medicine, both from the patient&#8217;s perspective and for the training of medical staff. MENTAL HEALTH TREATMENTS<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Its application in psychiatry is known as <strong>virtual reality exposure therapy (VRET)<\/strong>. In recent years, VRET has demonstrated its effectiveness in the treatment of <strong>phobias<\/strong>, but it can also be used to improve attention in people with <strong>ADHD <\/strong>and to reduce <strong>depression<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1060\" height=\"706\" src=\"https:\/\/innoarea.com\/files\/\/usos-realidad-virtual-salud-innoarea-projects-2-1-1060x706.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2437\" srcset=\"https:\/\/innoarea.com\/files\/usos-realidad-virtual-salud-innoarea-projects-2-1-1060x706.jpg 1060w, https:\/\/innoarea.com\/files\/usos-realidad-virtual-salud-innoarea-projects-2-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/innoarea.com\/files\/usos-realidad-virtual-salud-innoarea-projects-2-1-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/innoarea.com\/files\/usos-realidad-virtual-salud-innoarea-projects-2-1-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/innoarea.com\/files\/usos-realidad-virtual-salud-innoarea-projects-2-1.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1060px) 100vw, 1060px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Scientific <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/campussanofi.es\/2015\/06\/11\/realidad-virtual-y-su-aplicacion-en-salud-como-se-benefician-los-pacientes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#00d9d1\" class=\"has-inline-color\">research<\/mark><\/a><\/strong> identifies <strong>three <a href=\"https:\/\/campussanofi.es\/2015\/06\/11\/realidad-virtual-y-su-aplicacion-en-salud-como-se-benefician-los-pacientes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">main reasons<\/a><\/strong> for using Virtual Reality as a treatment for these conditions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Its <strong>effectiveness<\/strong>, which is greater than imagination and as effective as the live presentation technique.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Its higher <strong>acceptance <\/strong>by patients compared to other exposure therapies.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <strong>personalization <\/strong>of the treatment, as virtual reality allows the practitioner to fully control the environment to which the patient is exposed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. IMPROVEMENT OF THE QUALITY OF LIFE<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Virtual reality allows patients to <strong>escape<\/strong> from their condition and even <strong>improve<\/strong> their <strong>tolerance<\/strong> to certain treatments. <a href=\"http:\/\/revistas.ucm.es\/index.php\/PSIC\/article\/viewFile\/43447\/41095\">Studies have shown<\/a> that cancer patients who receive virtual reality relaxation sessions experience reduced anxiety and overall improved tolerance to chemotherapy, as well as a decrease in emotional distress. Virtual reality sessions are also effective in pain management for certain patients. These sessions are considered a distraction therapy that helps to <strong>reduce anxiety<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"656\" height=\"437\" src=\"https:\/\/innoarea.com\/files\/usos-realidad-virtual-salud-innoarea-projects-6.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2463\" srcset=\"https:\/\/innoarea.com\/files\/usos-realidad-virtual-salud-innoarea-projects-6.jpg 656w, https:\/\/innoarea.com\/files\/usos-realidad-virtual-salud-innoarea-projects-6-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 656px) 100vw, 656px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>In this area, we can also discuss other uses of virtual reality. In the case of <strong>hospitalized children<\/strong>, it helps them to escape and can even be used for them to communicate with their families. It is also useful for <strong>experimentation<\/strong>, allowing people with disabilities to explore environments and experiences they couldn&#8217;t experience due to their limitations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. DIAGNOSIS OF DISEASES<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Virtual Reality also allows patients to be immersed in a virtual environment where certain types of <strong>functional tests<\/strong> can be conducted, which can help <strong>diagnose diseases<\/strong>. Through <strong>virtual simulators<\/strong>, they can perform complex operations or surgeries without risk to the patient. Through this application for Meta Quest 2 goggles, students could experience different situations that <strong>enhance the teaching<\/strong> of pathological anatomy. This project includes hand tracking, eliminating the need for controllers.
