VR Games with Silman 97
Reducing the digital barrier with recreational virtual reality activities
This project is a virtual reality application developed in collaboration with Silman 97. The application consists of three recreational activities designed to immerse users inside a giant computer. Two of these activities involve solving puzzles by searching for various objects within the virtual environment, while the third allows users to virtually travel to different parts of the world through 360-degree images.
The project is part of the “Applícate” campaign by the Fundación Integra, which aims to provide digital skills training to groups that may be affected by the digital divide. To achieve this, three mobile classrooms have been implemented, which will travel through the municipalities of the Region of Murcia for two years, offering courses and workshops that utilize this innovative virtual reality experience.
Challenge
Reducing the digital divide among vulnerable groups by providing digital skills training in the Region of Murcia, through 3 mobile classrooms that will travel across municipalities for 2 years. An engaging experience that encourages problem-solving using innovative technology, such as virtual reality, was required.
Solution
The developed solution was a Virtual Reality application with recreational activities that are not only engaging and entertaining but also educational. The virtual reality experience was integrated into the "Applícate" campaign, utilizing three mobile classrooms that will travel through the municipalities of the Region of Murcia, offering courses and workshops.
Technology
The application is developed for use on Meta Quest 2 devices and later versions. Meta Quest headsets are standalone and portable devices that do not require a connection to a computer or cables, making them ideal for use in mobile settings like the campaign's classrooms.
